Wolfychu or Wolfy is the online alias of English-Irish YouTube animator and voice actor Kayleigh Smyth, known for making animated storytime videos and memes on her channel Wolfychu. She is currently based in Australia and regularly collaborates with her boyfriend and Canadian-Australian YouTuber and animator Jordan Sweeto. She has been criticized and “canceled” for her high pitch voice, which many have claimed to be fake.
Early Life
While Wolfychu had a great time in primary school, she stayed mostly by herself for a couple years in high school after two of her best friends abandoned her. She was also clueless about what her career choice would be after school while all her friends went to university. While she liked art, she didn’t consider being able to make a career out of it. She worked as a teacher's assistant in a primary school for a while, but eventually left the job despite enjoying it because she thought it was not the right career choice for her.
Career
Wolfychu started her YouTube animation career in November 2016, the same year she started talking on Skype to her future boyfriend and fellow YouTube animator Jordan Sweeto, who encouraged her. She also collaborated with him and other YouTube animators like daizy r, Rossali and Hyumzi. While she started out making animations and memes, she soon transitioned towards animated storytime videos in August 2017. Being grouped with other popular YouTube storytime animators also boosted her popularity, helping her surpass one million subscribers by early 2019. She created her own anime character, Wolfy, and went on to create a couple more characters including Luna. Apart from animating, she has provided voice acting for the characters Apple-chan and Melony on the web-series SMG4.
Family Life
Wolfychu was born as Kayleigh Smyth into an Irish origin family and grew up with two older brothers. She was a quiet kid who liked to draw and was fond of animals, particularly cats. She spent the first six years of her life in England, following which her family moved to Spain, where she attended school and became fluent in Spanish.
Relationships
In the video, How I met my Boyfriend (ft. SweetoTOONS) from February 2018, Wolfychu detailed her love story with fellow YouTube animator Jordan Sweeto. She came across his channel in 2013 and started following him. They later talked online via various platforms on and off for a long time. They started chatting for hours on Skype in 2016 after he messaged her on Twitter. They shared many interests and she started to develop feelings for him, although she was too shy to express them. He also liked her and wanted to get to know her better. Eventually in 2018, he convinced her to come to Australia for a couple weeks to meet him. Within 10 day after meeting each other in person for the first time, he asked her to be his girlfriend, and while she had to return soon, she immediately made plans to move to Australia permanently.
