Whynot_Joey is the online alias of social media star Joey Kisluk who rose to fame on musical.ly before his account was disabled. He was also active on his @whynot_joey Instagram account, which doesn’t seem to be public anymore. Although he was previously active on YouNow, he has not been active there for years. He is, however, active on his Twitter profile @whynot_joey. In September 2020, sharing a picture of a fan shop on his Twitter, he had hinted at opening an OnlyFans profile if life got any harder.
Early Life
While growing up, Whynot_Joey participated in wrestling and snowboarding, and also played football, baseball, and basketball. He mentioned believing in ghosts and being terrified of spiders.
Career
Whynot_Joey began his social media career in 2015 on musical.ly, which later became TikTok. He regularly uploaded lip-sync videos and comedic sketches on the platform and amassed a huge fan following. He often collaborated with other popular stars on the platform, such as Bryce Hall and Loren Gray, with one particular video of them, set to the Lana Del Rey song Young and Beautiful, attracting a lot of views and likes. He had reached a massive 1.5 million followers on his account before it was disabled. He had also been active on his Instagram profile @whynot_joey, on which he often posted sports related photos and shirtless images of himself. He also shared numerous photos with dogs on the platform. He made an Instagram reel about his dog Riley and shared it on Twitter with the caption “rest in peace buddy” in February 2023. However, his Instagram profile is now restricted. Furthermore, he has lost a large part of his fan base on his YouNow profile @WhyNot_Joey for not being active for more than seven years.
Family Life
Whynot_Joey’s parents are divorced and he lived with his mother and his stepfather. He has two brothers named Justin and Dan, among whom the latter is a firefighter. He once shared a picture with his mother on his Instagram profile. He started dating fellow popular musical.ly star Loren Gray (also known as Loren Beech on social media) in 2015 after meeting each other through YouNow. They were fondly tagged as #Joren by their fans. They even owned a joint profile on Instagram called Joeyxloren, while he featured on a number of videos on her YouTube channel, which she later deleted after they broke up in 2016. They reportedly split so that they could focus more on their respective careers and Loren subsequently took a break from social media to avoid any negativity.
He later started dating another popular musical.ly star, Layla Atiles, although not much is known about the relationship, other than the fact that they broke up in 2017. He also dated Ariella Matarazzo in 2018 and began dating TikTok star Paige Elissa in June 2020.
