Career

Tyler Oliveira created his eponymous YouTube channel on January 29, 2018 and uploaded his first video, I'M THE BOSSES SON PRANK! (COPS WERE CALLED!?), on April 10 that year. He continued to post several more prank videos and vlogs, but his channel did not gain momentum until after he featured on YouTuber Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson’s video, Attempting The Impossible Maze - $10,000 Challenge, as the 7,000,000th subscriber to the latter’s channel, on August 15, 2018. He got a shout out to his channel from MrBeast for participating in the challenge and also made a video titled I WAS MR. BEAST'S 7,000,000th SUBSCRIBER AND WON 7,000,000 ___ ! (ft. MrBeast), which was uploaded on his channel earlier on August 10. This helped his channel grow, and although it took him till January 2019 to reach 100k subscribers, he had amassed half a million subscribers by the end of the year.

Shortly after crossing one million subscribers in August 2020, he again featured in another MrBeast video, Last To Leave $800,000 Island Keeps It, on August 15th, exactly two years after his previous appearance. The video, which had over 110 million views, gave his channel another boost. His channel started to grow rapidly after he began uploading videos attempting different expensive and hard challenges, like If You Beat My Tesla In A Race... You Get To Keep It! and I dug a secret underground bunker using ONLY a spoon... – two of his most popular videos. Even later, he started making investigative and exposé type videos, such as I Investigated the City of Real Life Zombies... and I Investigated the City Where Every Drug is Legal..., which have also become immensely popular with his fan base.

Controversy

Tyler Oliveira has courted controversy several times during his YouTube career. He got into a feud with another popular YouTuber, Brent Rivera, in early 2023 while touring Oregon’s Stanley Hotel, where Jack Nicholson’s 1980 blockbuster The Shining was filmed. After witnessing two women dressed as the twins from the movie, he had asked Rivera if he was “faking” his prank video, which infuriated Rivera who reportedly called the cops on him. While Oliveira uploaded snippets of the whole interaction on YouTube, Rivera had posted a TikTok video explaining the situation, but viewers who saw Oliveira’s video criticized Rivera for the way the bigger YouTuber had treated Oliveira. In May 2023, he again gained notoriety for posting the video, I Snuck onto Jeffrey Epstein’s Island….
