Twan Kuyper is a Dutch mega-influencer based in the United States who rose to fame on Vine along with his best friend and YouTuber Lele Pons. Known for his comedic timing, he later gained popularity in both the Netherlands and the US through his content on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. He is also a model who was named “The Future Of Influencer And Brand Collaboration” by Forbes and an actor.
Early Life
Twan Kuyper was scared of acting as a child but later studied with Ivana Chubbuck and has worked with her for a couple years. He still attends acting classes every week, apart from reading countless books about it.
Career
Twan Kuyper spent the first 17 years of his life in the Netherlands before relocating to Florida and joined social media through Vine a couple years later. He quickly realized the potential of the platform, and along with Lele Pons, one of his best friends who introduced him to the app, started making funny videos that consistently landed on the For You page every day. His first video earned him 80k followers in a day, and he reached a million followers within 10 weeks. He also signed with 26MGMT and collaborated on promotional content for several popular brands. Apart from his friend Lele, he regularly collaborated with Rudy Mancuso, Christian Delgrosso, Bart Baker, Alec Bailey, Hayes Grier and Nash Grier, and would love to work with Kevin Hart someday.
Twan, who had rejected the opportunity to appear in a movie as a child because he was scared, has been haunted by it ever since and never wanted to miss another opportunity. He launched his modeling career and started to get offers from brands to make web-content and web series. He then moved to Los Angeles to explore new opportunities. Starting in 2015, he began to appear in short videos like Fifth Harmony: Worth It, PARODY and Zayn: Pillowtalk Parody. He also appeared on several talk shows in the Netherlands, which increased his popularity there more than in the US. He fell in love with acting after spending a lot of time on the set for his various projects. In 2018, he acted in the film Woman on the Edge and starred in the series Date of Honor the next year. In early 2021, he was roped in by TikTok competitor Triller to headline the new series Try Something New on its newly-announced TrillerTV service. He subsequently worked in another movie, Alone at Night, released in 2022. His latest offering is a drama film called Rule of Thirds which he also produced through Kuyper Productions.
Family Life
Twan Kuyper’s father Martin Kuyper is the founder of Eurotruss and his mother Angelique Osinga is an acupuncturist. He grew up with four siblings, including a brother named Jasper who is a DJ known by the stage name Jaz von D. He also has a sister named Lisa who has appeared on his YouTube channel. He has dated a model named Bettina.
