American magician and online content creator Evan Alberto, better known as The Card Guy, was 12 when he began practicing magic. In 2019, he shot to fame with his magic tricks on TikTok. He soon began performing for eminent personalities, such as Charlie Sheen and Eric Garcetti. He is a member of the prestigious magic club The Magic Castle and has also performed at The Hype House. Apart from TikTok, Evan has garnered a huge fan base on YouTube and Instagram, too.
Early Life
The Card Guy, or Evan Alberto, began his stint with magic at age 12. As a child, Evan would spend hours glued to the TV set or his computer, playing video games. His unhealthy addiction to video games made his parents draw a line. Soon, Evan switched to sports and eventually experimented with magic.
After graduating from Tesoro High School in 2018, Evan attended the Vanguard University of Southern California. He initially worked as a janitor while he posted videos of his magic tricks online.
Career
Evan joined TikTok around 2017-2018. However, he did not gain fame till February 2019. By December that year, he had topped TikTok’s trending list. While he initially focused on card tricks, he gradually became popular with his magic tricks, reaction videos, riddles, and optical illusions.
Soon, he began performing for celebrities such as Will Ferrell, Marshmello, Charlie Sheen, and LA mayor Eric Garcetti. In February 2020, Evan performed at The Hype House for TikTokers such as Alex Warren and Addison Rae. The video received over 5 million views.
Over the years, Evan has featured internet stars such as Gary Vaynerchuk and Katie Feeney in his videos. He has also collaborated with SeanDoesMagic, Spencer X, and Anna DeGuzman. In December 2020, he launched the podcast It’s Tricky Games with The Card Guy.
Evan is one of the youngest members of The Magic Castle, a prestigious private club for magicians and magic lovers. He once hosted a free course named The Secrets of Magic & Entrepreneurship with Varsity Tutors.
He is also known for his vlogs and TikTok compilation videos on YouTube. One of his most popular videos on the platform is Best Optical Illusions. The channel has over 2.6 million subscribers. On TikTok, he has garnered over 16 million followers. He is popular on Instagram, too.
Family Life
In July 2015, Evan met Cassie Sharp at a local church. She was apparently selling T-shirts back then, as part of the church’s leadership team. They bonded when Evan showed her a magic trick and began dating soon after. A 2020 YouTube video on his channel showed that he had moved into a content house in Los Angeles with Cassie and his best friends.

Evan loves burgers from Mr. Beast Burger. He is terrified of sharks. One of his favorite magic tricks is selecting a card picked by the audience from a mess of cards. In February 2021, Evan bought a pet robot named Vector.
