Stephen Sharer is an American internet personality and musician best known for his self-titled YouTube channel where he makes videos covering challenges, pranks, stunts, experiments, adventure and DIY stuff. He regularly works with his brother Carter and has featured his sister Grace in his videos. He is also closely associated with the toy manufacturing company Nerf. He has released several music videos through his channel.
Early Life
While in school, Stephen Sharer loved performing science experiments with materials gathered from his backyard. Although he developed an interest in computers and information technology, he earned a degree in Economics and Digital Marketing from New York University.
Career
Since he was a child, Stephen Sharer created video content and performed at local events with friends. He also performed in school and college festivals. He started uploading on his YouTube account with the video Unboxing 2 Hoverboards! in November 2015. He has been making DIY videos, challenges, pranks, stunts, experiments, and adventure videos ever since. He has also extensively worked with the Nerf brand and has many videos about Nerf guns.
His brother Carter joined him in 2017 as he began making YouTube videos fulltime. In August that year, they created a song and music video called Share The Love, which still remains their most-watched video on the channel with over 151 million views. In the video, he used his lime green Lamborghini with the Share The Love logo on the front, because of which he calls his car the "Sharerghini". He subsequently also started selling merchandise related to the song. The popularity of the song and his other content helped him surpass 2 million subscribers within a year and reach 6 million in two years. Following the success of Share The Love, he went on to release several more music videos including Jump In!, Snow Day, SLUSHIE, TikTok Cutie ft. Topper Guild, In My Jeep, and When I See You Again, all of which have received million of views.
After his popularity skyrocketed, he was featured in interviews and articles by leading media houses including Newsweek, CBS Local and Yahoo Finance, as well as outlets such as Sweety High and Young Hollywood. He has also discussed YouTube and social media growth methods as a guest speaker at CVX Live, VidSummit and VidCon conferences. In 2019, news media widely covered him granting the wish of 8-year-old terminally ill child James through the Make a Wish Foundation by taking him on a backyard adventure in search of the “Pond Monster”.
Family Life
Stephen Sharer was born to a lawyer father and an artist mother who uses oil paints to create magnificent artworks. He grew up with a brother named Carter and a sister named Grace. He has three best friends named John, Chase and Alex with whom he often films videos. He was previously in a relationship with a girl named Renata Erickson, but they broke up in 2018. He currently lives in Los Angeles, where he moved to pursue his YouTube career.
