Early Life
Savannah DeLullo attended Columbian College of Arts and Sciences at the George Washington University and finished her graduation in spring 2021 with a degree in economics and a minor in business. She subsequently landed an economics research position at a company, but she found the transition to the corporate world difficult as, compared to student life, she had more free time than she knew what to do with. She eventually left her nine-to-five job in mid-2023 to become a fulltime TikToker.
Career
While Savannah DeLullo never imagined becoming a TikToker, she enjoyed going through social media and enjoyed solving the daily Wordle. She decided to use that as content and started sharing such clips on her TikTok profile in January 2022. She was inspired by a TikToker she followed who used to post videos of him playing the New York Times Mini Crossword every day. She also wanted to do something that no one else was doing on the platform, and Wordle fit the bill perfectly. Since then, she has been posting split-screen videos of her solving the daily Wordle while talking about the happenings in her life. In fact, talking about her interests in music led her to collaborate with artists like the Jonas Brothers and Ed Sheeran.
She has also worked with brands and has featured as the daily Wordle review columnist for the New York Times, which owns the game. While Wordle has been the basis of her online fame, she has not ruled out exploring other avenues in the future. She is particularly interested in music and is also open about playing other games, livestreaming and joining YouTube. She also likes to talk about things in her life and is interested in collaborating with other internet stars.
Strategy
Despite being one of the most popular professional Wordle players, Savannah DeLullo doesn’t like to employ any min-maxing strategy to select her first word everyday for efficiency. Instead, her one rule is that the word must be “fun”, as opposed to using optimized “boring” words, like audio or crane, every single day. She usually picks her first word based on whatever is on her mind that particular day. For instance, a lizard crawling across her security camera had inspired her to use the word “GECKO” once. As such, it is probably unsurprising that she has not been able to get the word of the day on the first try yet, but she has made it her resolution for 2024.
Family Life
Savannah DeLullo has a sister. She had a golden retriever named Princess that passed away in summer 2022.
