Mexican YouTube star Rafa Polinesio became a social media sensation after he launched his first channel, PlaticaPolinesa, with his two sisters, Karen and Lesslie. Rafa, who holds a marketing degree, was also a track athlete in school. Early Life
Rafael “Rafa” Polinesio was born Rafael Velázquez Espinoza. He grew up in Mexico, along with his two sisters. Rafael has a marketing degree from the Tecnológico de Monterrey. A sports lover in his younger days, he was active in the institute’s track team. After finishing school, he also worked at Pizza Hut and Nextel.
Social Media Career
Rafa’s journey on social media began when he launched a YouTube channel titled PlaticaPolinesa with his sisters in November 2010. Soon, following the success of their first channel, the siblings launched other channels in 2012. The other YouTube channels of this popular YouTuber trio are ExtraPolinesios, Los Polinesios, and Juxiis.
He is equally popular on Instagram. His account on the platform, ppteamrafa, mostly showcases photoblogs on his travel adventures and other exciting topics. He has, over the years, garnered over 7 million followers on the platform.
Rafa launched the YouTube channel LosPolinesios in December 2012. On December 17 that year, he posted the first video on the channel, Grabando el intro de la broma Tirando el Brasier.
Some of his other well-known videos on the channel are WE REVEAL OUR SECRETS | LOS POLINESIOS VLOGS, CAMPING AT HOME | LOS POLINESIOS VLOGS, and 100 LITERS OF SLIME | LOS POLINESIOS VLOGS.
In 2019, he revealed in a video on his channel ExtraPolinesios that his fellow influencers Katie Angel, Sandra Cires, and Kimberly Loaiza watched his channel the most. All of Rafa’s channels have amassed millions of subscribers.
In 2017, Rafa lent his voice to the character Lloyd Garmadon in the Spanish dubbed version of The LEGO Ninjago Movie. In May 2020, Rafa and his sisters earned a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award for the Fandom Latino category.
The trio also owns a merchandise line that they sell on their website, platicapolinesia.com. The line includes jackets and hoodies.
Family Life
Rafa is one of the three children of his parents, Rafael and Verónica. He grew up with his two younger sisters, Karen and Lesslie Polinesia. The siblings also have three dogs, Koco, Aria, and Kler. Both of his sisters are social media stars, while Karen is also a beauty influencer.
Rafael is known for his tall, athletic frame and his long hair. He is also known to have dated Dai Hernandez in the past. Dai, also known as Daiana, is an Argentinian YouTuber and influencer.
