Kate Peytavin is an American social media influencer, singer, and actress who gained a huge following on TikTok by sharing her song covers, challenges and comedy videos on her profile @kate.peytavin (now @katelovesihop). She had originally earned fame on her eponymous YouTube channel for sharing her song covers and original songs. She is also an actress who has worked in theatre, films, television and commercials, and has done voice-over work.

Early Life

Kate Peytavin attended Prairieville Primary and Middle Schools before entering St Amant High School, from where she finished her graduation in 2023. As her popularity on YouTube grew, she started to resent having to balance social media and school. She became interested in singing and acting at an early age and often made her own videos on her mother’s iPad. She later took private voice lessons from American Idol contestant Clif St. Laurent and also attended weekly classes at Debby Gaudet's Screen Actors Studio.

Career

Kate Peytavin created her YouTube channel on December 17, 2015, and on June 16, 2016, uploaded her first video, a cover of Lukas Graham’s song Seven Years, which she partially rewrote, as a present to her father on Father's Day while he fought cancer. The cover earned viral fame and remains one of her most favorite covers. In March 2017, she was among several female singers invited to sing Surround the World for a video project for International Women’s Day by songwriter and producer Oren Sharon. While she remained inactive on her channel for several years, she resumed uploading more song covers starting with a cover of Conan Gray’s song Heather on October 19, 2020. She further revealed that she was working on her original music release, but went on to release cover of Backyard Boy by Claire Rosinkranz. She later released the songs ever fallen? in December 2022 and something's off in May 2023 through most streaming platforms and her YouTube channel. In the meantime, she also amassed a huge following on her TikTok profile @katelovesihop.

She began appearing in theatrical productions of plays such as RapunzelSeussical the MusicalBeauty and the Beast and The Miracle Worker for Christian Youth Theatre and Theatre Baton Rouge in 2015. She started her professional acting career in 2017, playing the lead role in the film Found and Lost, and appearing in the television show We're Pretty Terrible and the commercial Healthier Air For All. Since then, she has acted in films like Shock Traverse, Kendall and Polly, Children of Disease, Speechless, Little Queen of the Big South, and The Trouble with the Pink Shoes. Her television credits include guest roles in FrankenSITTERAssault: The Series and We're Pretty Terrible, and a co-starring role in the pilot of Torn. She further did commercials for Gates Car Dealership, Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux, Relief Windows, Cox Connect, and Southern Quality Ford Dealers.
