Jason Waud is an American social media star who rose to fame alongside his twin brother Joe on various social media platforms. He initially gained popularity on musical.ly, now known as TikTok, and also has a sizable fan following on his Instagram profile. He also shares the YouTube channel Waud Twins with his brother, although they have not uploaded anything in years.
Career
Jason Waud was the first among the twin brothers to venture into social media. He started posting video clips on musical.ly in summer 2016. One of his earliest post on the platform was from September 6, 2016 with the caption, “First 2 likes gets a due till comment for a BFF.” Alongside musical.ly, he was also interested in Instagram and made his first post on the platform in November 2016. In April next year, he shared a picture on the platform that featured his siblings. However, he may have deleted his old posts as his earliest post on the platform currently is a picture with his brother from July 2, 2019. He had shared a video on musical.ly with the caption “Dogs are great”, which became one of his most popular posts on the platform. Jason, who often shared pictures of his pet dog Chevy, had received a puppy from his fans and named it Garfield. He had also made a musical.ly to the Bruno Mars song Count On Me.
In July 2017, he had visited musicial.ly headquarters. In mid-2017, he participated in #SquashTheHate campaign on the streaming platform Live.me. While he quickly gained a large fan following on musical.ly, he also often shared his contents from that platform to his Instagram profile and made Q&A videos with his brother Joe. He and his brother also created a joint YouTube channel called Waud Twins in March 2017. They uploaded the first video on the channel, PO BOX OPENING!, in September that year. While they were not very active on the platform, they shared a few more videos over the next couple years covering various topics.
Family Life
Jason Waud was born one hour and 25 minutes after his identical twin brother Joe Waud. Their mother is a teacher. They also have an elder sister. As a child, he wanted to be a civil engineer. Before becoming famous on social media, he loved to spend time riding scooters or playing video games. Both the brothers played soccer and basketball in school.
He had a bike accident in July 2018 that caused minor cuts and bruises. For the past couple years, he has often shared pictures from the hospital and talked about his health issues, which caused a lot of speculations on the internet, including him possibly battling cancer. However, through a TikTok post in April 2023, he revealed that he has been battling an unknown disease for the past three years and that it was progressively getting worse. Sharing pictures of himself from Cascade Valley Hospital, he advised his followers “not to take anything for granted”.
