Jack Baran, born Jack Matthew Baran, better known by his online moniker thatsojack, is a viral social media sensation who has amassed fans on Twitter, Vine, and most notably YouTube. His channel attracted millions of viewers because of his innovative uploads on YouTube. In addition to maintaining his channel, Jack contributed to Otter Media's Fullscreen, a digital entertainment firm.

Early Life

After completing his high school education at Fairfield Warde High School in 2014, Jack dropped out to devote more time to his online video channel.

Social Media Career

Baran started a YouTube channel in 2010, where he posts content about his life and travels. Jack has amassed a sizable following because of his candid and entertaining vlogs and lifestyle content. With the encouragement of his pals Jenn McAllister and Lohanthony, he decided to join the Fullscreen YouTube multi-channel network and talent management unit. My Favorite Songs You've Never Heard is an example of a video in which he features a playlist of songs rather than focusing on a single song. Jack said in one of his videos that he watches his videos and edits over a dozen times before posting them online. This rising artist is also working on a linear television pilot that will include some of his favorite musical numbers and outfits.

Jack's films have not only earned him praise from all around the world but also opened doors for him to further establish himself in the online community. After reaching over a million followers, YouTube recognized him with their "Gold Creator Award" in 2015.

In early 2015, Baran co-starred with Paulina Cerrilla as a Starbucks barista in a sketch for AwesomenessTVFirst Times with Jack + Jenn is an AwesomenessTV series featuring Baran and the fellow YouTuber Jenn McAllister (jennxpenn) that premiered in the summer of 2015. Jack Baran, Gabbie Hanna, Andrew Lowe, Chachi Gonzales, and Ricky Dillon went on a national tour doing lip syncs to hit songs in December of 2016.  In 2017, Baran presented a Snapchat game show for the Grammys, quizzing random passersby on the awards program and its nominees.

Family Life

Baran publicly came out as homosexual in a video posted to his YouTube account on July 24, 2015, titled I'm Gay. He has an elder brother, Doug.
