HamzahTheFantastic is a Yemen-born social media star based in Canada who rose to fame on TikTok for his point-of-view videos. Subsequently, he hosted the 4freakshow conversational broadcast on Twitch with fellow TikTokers Chase Rutherford, Haley Sharpe, and Claire Drake. In early 2021, he started the Out of Character podcast with another TikToker called thatmartinkid. The two also share the gaming channel Slushy Noobz.
Career
One of the earliest pictures HamzahTheFantastic posted on his Instagram profile was a picture of him with his friends Tanner Burke, James Oberg, and Aron-Taylor on May 25, 2019. While he had managed to amass 250k followers on the platform in about a year, he actually gained more recognition for his point-of-view videos on his TikTok profile. He imitated popular internet star and pop singer Jacob Sartorius in a TikTok video from December 2019. In January 2020, he joined YouTube with his eponymous channel, although the first video on the channel, a music video titled 6 FEET - Hamzah the Fantastic feat. Freddie Dredd, was not uploaded until November that year. Unfortunately, he has since then posted only one video on the channel, titled How to Make Friends, which is comedic video about him struggling to make friends after graduating from high school and was uploaded in May 2021.
In July 2020, Hamzah started collaborating with three fellow TikTokers, Chase Rutherford, Haley Sharpe, and Claire Drake on the Twitch conversational talk show, the 4freakshow. They usually had humorous conversations about video gaming or cooking, and were often accompanied by one guest. They also had alternate “hacker” personalities who hatched plans to ruin the show. Their first show aired on July 9th and they even had popular TikTok star Charli D’Amelio appear as a guest in August. That month, they created a YouTube channel by the same name to upload their streams there. They had become very popular among the Gen Z within a few months, but the group fell apart after a feud between Hamzah and Rutherford. He currently hosts the Out of Character podcast with thatmartinkid and also shares the gaming channel Slushy Noobz with him.
Controversy
In early August 2021, HamzahTheFantastic had tweeted about losing a friend because people “change”, without revealing any name. Days later, he hosted the first solo episode of the Out of Character podcast to discuss the controversy, where he further accused Rutherford of doing him dirty and Sharpe of being two faced. The group latter made an attempt at reconciliation through an Instagram live hosted by Hamzah, but it ended up in further altercation.
Family Life
Although many online sources mention HamzahTheFantastic’s real name to be Hamzah Saleh, his real name is actually Hamzah Al-Emad according to his Instagram bio. Born in Yemen, he was brought to the United States when he was just eight months old and was raised there until he was 17, following which he relocated to Canada, where he currently lives. He has a younger brother whom he has featured on his TikTok videos.
