Grace Hunter is an American social media star and basketball player who featured on leading news outlets after sharing a TikTok dance with her mother and grandmother, both of whom looked just old enough to be her older sisters. The video quickly earned 3.7 million views and made her famous, although she already had a huge following on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. She also played basketball at Athens Drive High School and North Carolina State University.

Early Life

As a child, Grace Hunter challenged all her older siblings in basketball although they often beat her to it. As the youngest girl in the family, she worked hard to earn the respect of her siblings. Initially homeschooled, she attended high school at Athens Drive High School where she started playing basketball as a freshman. During her school career, she recorded several achievements, and became her high school’s all-time leading scorer. She then attended North Carolina State University, where she represented Charlotte 49ers for two seasons in 2015-17, but then redshirted due to NCAA transfer rules. Apart from basketball and school, she sang in the choir for her church.

Career

Alongside playing basketball, Grace Hunter has been present on various social media platforms for a long time. She has been active on her eponymous YouTube channel since May 2016 and also posted on her TikTok profile @amazinggrace_xoxo and her Instagram profile @amazinggraceee_xoxo. She further shared the TikTok profile @graceandzay with her then-boyfriend Zay. She often posted comedy and prank videos, but it is after she featured her mother and grandmother in one of her TikTok videos that she became the talk of the town. Many opined that they did not look old enough to be her mother and grandmother, and rather looked like her sisters, and even accused her of trying to pass a 30-year-old as her grandmother. The news was published in leading international news outlets and boosted her popularity.

Family Life

Grace Hunter was born to Francestan Pinckney Hunter and Harry Hunter. She was born into an athletic family where basketball is like a family pastime. Her father played basketball in school and baseball in college, while her mother was a cheerleader. She grew up in a large family with 12 siblings: Ebony, Xavier, Zacharry, Joshua, Francena, Faith, Caleb, Hope, Charity, Joy, Silas and Paul. She is the youngest girl among her siblings and is only older than Silas and Paul. Her family runs Stand in the Gate, a small ministry. Most of her siblings were homeschooled, and her eldest brother Xavier earned a walk-on spot at Louisburg Junior College despite not having played organized basketball. Grace began going to school for the high school years. Most of her siblings have played at least one season of college basketball.

She was in a relationship with a YouTuber named Zay, with whom she regularly made videos and also shared the TikTok profile @graceandzay. However, she revealed though the YouTube video We broke up.... in October 2021 that they had separated.
