American YouTuber, singer, actor, author, and graffiti illustrator Gabbie Hanna is a multidimensional artist. She initially gained fame with her reaction videos on Vine and YouTube and focused on her music career in 2017. Over the years, she has released tracks such as Out Loud, authored bestselling illustrated poetry books such as Adultolescence, and appeared in films and series too.
Early Life
Gabbie Hanna was born Gabrielle Jeanette Hanna. She is from New Castle, Pennsylvania, and has a degree in Psychology and Communications from the University of Pittsburgh. She is of mixed descent and has Lebanese, German, Polish, French, and Slovak origins.
Social Media Career
Gabbie first shot to fame on Vine in 2013 and then on YouTube. She amassed over 4.7 million followers on her Vine channel, The Gabbie Show, before the platform shut down.
On February 12, 2014, she launched her YouTube channel, The Gabbie Show, which has since gained over 5 million subscribers. She later launched another channel, The Gabbie Vlogs, which was later discontinued.
She is mostly known for her reactions to Vine clips, which she calls “(b)advice,” her parody sketches, and her series titled MAKING OUT, which she co-created with fellow YouTube stars Miranda Sings and Shane Dawson. She has millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram too.
In 2015, she won the 4th season of Dance Showdown with Matt Steffanina. She focused on her music career in 2017 and released her singles Out Loud and Satellite on YouTube. Out Loud later reached number 3 on the US iTunes charts.
In 2016, she debuted in films, appearing as Lindsey in the comedy Laid in America. Much before that, in 2014, she had already made her TV debut with Access Hollywood. On May 31, 2019, Gabbie launched her first EP, 2WayMirror, which was placed at number 4 on the US Independent Albums (Billboard) chart. In 2022, she released the albums Trauma Queen and This Time Next Year.
Gabbie is known for her love for graffiti art and features it even on her website. She also released the illustrated poetry volumes Adultolescence and Dandelion. She has endorsed products such as Verizon and has also appeared in the YouTube series titled Escape the Night. Gabbie Hanna is one of the 7 children of her parents, James and Michelle Hanna. She grew up with her elder sisters, Cherisa and Monica; younger sisters, Genevieve, Madelynn, and Cecilia; and her younger brother, Sam. Cecilia is a social media star in her own right.
Gabbie apparently had a fling with social media sensation Andrew Siwicki. She was also in a relationship with actor Desmond Harrington. In August 2019, she began dating Payton Saxon. She later shared a poem on Twitter, celebrating their first anniversary. In June 2021, Gabbie declared they had split.
