Fred Liu takes his education very seriously and secured 1570 in his second SAT test. While his mother didn’t let him play more physical sports, he participated in cross country and track and field, and was selected varsity captain in both two years in a row. His other extracurricular activities include painting. He attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and although he was studying as an economics major, he stated that he might end up becoming a veterinarian by the end of college because “passions change and people change”. (so frustrating), on the YouTube channel of popular social media star Evelyn Ha and her sisters on June 5, 2021. Shortly after that appearance, he began making videos on his eponymous YouTube channel. He uploaded his first video, titled q&a, on Jul 16, 2021. In the following months, he continued to vlog about moving to Los Angeles, his trip to NYC, his life as a student, and also put out useful videos to guide others about the college application process and how to navigate student life. He often featured Evelyn in his videos and appeared in several relationship-themed videos on her channel. Their relationship arc provided entertainment akin to any good Kpop drama to their fans and helped him increase fan base on social media.

Fred Liu is of Chinese descent and has a brother named Frank. He featured his mother in a TikTok video in February 2020. His frequent appearances with Evelyn Ha prompted fans to speculate that they were secretly dating, which they never denied.
