Palestinian-American YouTuber, vlogger, and fitness influencer Yousef Erakat became an overnight social media star with his prank and comedy channel, fouseyTUBE. While he began his YouTube career with funny parodies of the Middle Eastern culture, he later focused on general pranks and other content. Yousef has also been part of his two other channels, DOSEofFOUSEY and FOUSEY, and his family channel, The Kats Family. He is an actor and a former boxer too.
Early Life
Palestinian-origin Yousef Erakat, better known online as fouseyTube, was born in Fremont, California. He obtained a degree in theater arts from the San Jose State University in 2013. Following this, he moved to Los Angeles to boost his acting career.
Social Media Career
Yousef launched his immensely popular YouTube channel, fouseyTUBE, on March 21, 2011. His first video on the channel was fouseyTUBE Intro Parody. While he initially parodied Middle Eastern family values through his famous Middle Eastern Families Skit, he later focused more on general pranks, interviews, and comedy sketches. Many of his videos have him mimicking rapper Drake. His primary channel has now gained millions of subscribers.
In 2014, Yousef launched the vlog channel DOSEofFOUSEY, aiming at motivating people with his fitness videos. He has another personal channel, FOUSEY, which was launched in 2013.
In July 2017, Yousef started vlogging for the family channel The Kats Family, now known as KATS. The channel amassed over a million subscribers within a year of its launch.
Yousef has also appeared on his brother Mohammad’s channel, The Kat Doctor, and his mother’s food vlogging channel, The Kat Chef. He calls his fans DOF Bruh Bruhs.
Yousef’s social media fame has earned him the Streamy Awards for the Show of The Year in 2015 and for the Entertainer of the Year in 2016. He has acted in the YouTube series Fight of the Living Dead and the movie Boo! A Madea Halloween and its sequel, Boo 2! A Madea Halloween.
Yousef has millions of followers on Instagram and TikTok too. He has also launched the fitness app FitbyFousey.
Boxing Career
Yousef has had a brief stint with boxing too. In September 2019, he made his boxing debut in a match against Slim Albaher, which he lost. He underwent two surgeries to fix his broken nose. Following this, he decided to quit boxing.
However, in June 2022, he played a second bout, against Deji Olatunji. He lost this match too and never tried boxing again.
Family Life
Yousef belongs to a devout Muslim family from Palestine. He grew up with his three elder siblings: his two brothers, Mohammad and Ahmad, and his sister, Noura. Mohammad is a dentist, while Noura is a legal scholar.
In 2016, Yousef started dating fellow social media star Alycia Tyre. However, the couple broke up later. He began a relationship with YouTuber and friend Simmi Singh in 2018. They too split later.
Yousef has often been vocal about his struggle with depression, addiction, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and other mental health issues.
