Daniel Lara, popularly known as the face behind the viral "Damn, Daniel" video, gained widespread recognition after the video was posted by his friend Joshua Holz. The video, an edited collection of Snapchat clips filmed at Riverside Polytechnic High School, featured Holz repeatedly saying the phrase "Damn, Daniel," which quickly became an internet sensation. As a result, Lara's social media fame skyrocketed, earning him more than 400,000 followers on Instagram. In addition to his newfound fame, he received a lifetime supply of Vans shoes from the company and chose to donate some of these shoes to California-based Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. Along with Holz, Lara also made a cameo in the Weezer music video for their song "California Kids."
