Cyrus Dobre is an American social media star who gained fame alongside his brothers Darius, Lucas and Marcus on the YouTube channel Dobre Brothers where they shared pranks, challenges, music videos and more. The brothers collectively signed a joint venture deal with Creative Artists Agency in March 2018. Cyrus also shared the couple’s channel Cyrus and Christina with his ex-wife Christina Kalamvokis and is currently active on the family vlogging channel The Lion Family with his wife Brenda Esperanca.
Early Life
As a child, Cyrus Dobre wanted to be an FBI special agent and even went to school to study criminology, although he ditched the plans after becoming famous on YouTube. He completed his school graduation from South Hagerstown High School. He attended the University of Iowa from where he obtained a bachelor's degree in sociology and a master's degree in strategic communication. While attending university, he became the captain for the University of Iowa Men's Gymnastics team.
Career
Although Cyrus Dobre is the eldest among his siblings, it was his twin brothers Lucas and Marcus who originally rose to fame on Vine. The elder brothers sometimes appeared in their videos and followed them into various social media platforms. Cyrus and his three brothers joined YouTube with the channel Dobre Brothers in June 2017 and days later uploaded their first video, Why we are doing this.., to explain the idea behind the channel. While the group quickly became known for their unique pranks and challenge videos, according to Cyrus, their first viral video was their first music video, You Know You Lit, posted in July 2017. While the brothers eventually stopped making new music videos as a group, Cyrus has continued to make new music videos consistently. He has also shared the couples’ channels Cyrus and Christina and The Lion Family with his ex-wife Christina Kalamvokis and his current wife Brenda Esperanca, respectively.
Family Life
Cyrus Dobre was born to Aurelia Dobre, a Romanian former artistic gymnast and the 1987 world all-around champion, and Iranian gymnastics coach Boz Mofid. His mother, who moved to the US in 1991, ran and served as a coach at the Dobre Gymnastics Academy in Maryland, but retired in 2020 and closed the gym. Cyrus is the oldest of four sons and has brothers Darius, and twins Lucas and Marcus.
He started dating Christina Kalamvokis aka Stina Kayy in 2017 and he first introduced her to his followers in March 2018. They shared the channel Cyrus and Christina, and often posted loved-up pictures on Instagram. They got married in late 2018, but announced their break up through a joint video titled We broke up... on the Christina Kayy channel in April 2020. He later started dating Brenda Esperanca in 2022 and first made their relationship public in September. He proposed to her on January 21, 2023 and revealed expecting a baby together in April that year, welcoming a baby boy a month later. He now features his family on The Lion Family vlogging channel.
