Christopher O'Flyng is an American YouTuber best known for his eponymous channel where he had started posting fun videos but later began raising awareness about serious topics like sexuality, addiction, and charity. He released his first music video, My First Song, on September 26, 2019. In September 2022, he uploaded a video revealing how he went to third world countries to save his YouTube career, but ended up quitting. He is also an actor-producer known for Black Creek.

Early Life

Christopher O'Flyng’s mother inspired him to play soccer and basketball, although he didn’t enjoy it very much. He was personally interested in skateboarding and rollerblading. His mother also encouraged him to play musical instruments. He attended DC Everest Senior High in Schofield, Wisconsin. As a child, he considered becoming a professional yo-yoer.

Career

Christopher O'Flyng was inspired by the comedy group Smosh and YouTubers like Ryan Higa to start his own YouTube channel and convinced his friend, Luke Korn, to collaborate with him on making videos. They created the channel, UncleKornicob, on which they posted weekly videos of them doing random stuff for the next three years. The channel later became Luke’s after Christopher left to explore traditional high school life.

Fans often asked Christopher to make his own channel, which he finally did on December 23, 2012, with the channel Christopheroflyng (now ChrisOflyng), and re-introduced himself in his first video, titled My Name is Chris O'flyng, on September 2, 2014. He continued to post various types of content on the channel, including challenges, story time videos, lip-syncs, stand-ups, mimicries, etc. He also co-owns another channel, called LittleBigFamily, with his two close friends, Danny and Diego.

He eventually moved to more serious topics and opened up being a “multi-sexual” in the video, My Sexuality, Coming Out, in March 2016. His story was featured in a Huffington Post article and made him an LGBT icon. He talked about his addiction with the prescription drug Adderall in the video My Struggle With Addiction on August 7, 2017. In December that year, he collaborated with the non-profit organization WhyHunger, and Prizeo, a celebrity platform to raise funds through charities, to raise awareness surrounding the United States hunger crisis. He crossed one million subscribers in 2016, but at the height of his popularity, felt depleted and ditched YouTube, as well as cancelled a scheduled nationwide tour, to visit earthquake-ravaged Haiti.

Christopher, who always wanted to produce documentary films, produced and starred in the indie horror film Black Creek (2017). He also moved to Los Angeles to work in films more actively.

Family Life

Christopher O'Flyng has a sister named Brianna. He had introduced his then-girlfriend, Mackenzie Marie on the video Meet My Girlfriend! in June 2016, but later reintroduced her as his ex-girlfriend in another video from March 2017. On July 23, 2018, he posted the video, To Destiny, to tell his fans that he has fallen in love with a Black girl named Destiny.
