Chad Wild Clay is an American YouTuber known for his comedy videos, parody songs, chopping Fruit Ninja videos, and his Spy Ninjas videos. He started making videos with his then-girlfriend Vy Qwaint, who is now his wife and is also a beauty vlogger. Chad lives by the motto “Adapt or die” and has changed his content several times to adapt to new situations, which he credits for his success on YouTube.

Early Life

Chad Wild Clay completed his graduation from Winona State University in 1999 before obtaining an audio engineering degree from Hennepin Technical College in 2002. He also went to McNally Smith College of Music.

Career

Chad Wild Clay originally started making YouTube videos when he created a song and music video for his girlfriend, Vy Qwaint. Although he created his YouTube channel back in 2006, he shared the first video, iPhone Proposal in Movie Theater, in September 2010. Following its success, the two continued to make more parody music videos like Britney Spears Parody - "No Common Sense Me" and Booty Pop Song - Black Eyed Peas Parody "Just Can't Get Enough" & "Boom Boom Pow".

Much later in October 2015, he started a series called CRAP (Comment Raps And Parody) in which he created parody videos from user comments twice a week. The series was very successful, although his fifth parody of Adele’s song Hello was blocked on YouTube in 27 countries immediately after release. In September 2016, he released the video Pen Pineapple Apple Pen, which was roasted by popular YouTuber PewDiePie and even Justin Bieber called it his favorite video in a tweet, following which it got a massive boost and registered over 100 million views.

Chad, who continued to make comedy skits alongside parody videos, often experimented with new types of content and shifted focus to roasting videos following the success of Pen Pineapple Apple Pen. He later started to make videos about unusual and unique products and gadgets and also made various challenge videos at one point. However, he eventually became known for his chopping Fruit Ninja videos, following the success of which he, along with his then-wife Vy, co-founded Spy Ninjas, a fictional YouTube series following a group of martial arts “experts” who fight a “hacker” organization called “Project Zorgo”. For the series, they teamed up with fellow creators like Daniel Gizmo, Regina Ginera, and Melvin Ginera.

Family Life

Chad Wild Clay was raised in an affluent family and has a brother named Casey. He got married to Vy Qwaint on July 21, 2011 and hosted two ceremonies, one in Vy's hometown in Vietnam and another in Chad's hometown Minnesota. They moved to Los Angeles, California in July 2015 before moving again to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2018 after their LA apartment burnt down.

He revealed in December 2022 that he had eight tumorous masses on his spine causing him immense pain, for which he needed to get surgery. In February 2023, he announced getting radiation therapy, which was completed in April.
