Born Amos Yee Pang Sang to computer engineer Alphonsus Yee and mathematics professor Mary Toh Ai Buay, Yee was raised in a Catholic household but later became an outspoken atheist. His early success at the First Film Fest caught the eye of filmmaker Jack Neo, who offered him an internship and a role in the film "We Not Naughty."
