Alyssa Edwards, born Justin Johnson in Mesquite, Texas, is a renowned drag performer and dance teacher who first gained widespread fame on the fifth season of RuPaul's Drag Race. She later participated in RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars in 2016 and starred in her own Netflix docu-series, Dancing Queen, in 2018. Edwards' early drag career in the 2000s saw her achieve her first significant success as the first alternate in the Miss Gay Texas pageant in 2003-2004. However, her journey wasn't without setbacks; she was dethroned from her title of Miss Gay America in 2010.
