Alexa Rivera Villegas is a Mexican social media star who rose to fame as a child YouTuber who made videos about challenges, tutorials, tags, vlogs and more on her eponymous channel. She is comparatively less active now than she was eight years ago, which reflects in reduced viewership in her recent videos. However, she has expanded her reach outside of YouTube and is also active on Instagram and TikTok. She is represented by InkEntourage in Mexico City.
Early Life
Alexa Rivera Villegas attended Jean Piaget Kindergarten before moving to Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, where she attended preschool at Las Gaviotas GDL. Apart from Spanish, she is fluent in English and has also learnt Italian.
Career
Alexa Rivera Villegas started her social media career on YouTube as a child in December 2014, when she was weeks short of turning 12. Her first video, Yo soy Alexa y este es mi primer video :), was a short introduction video in which she mentioned that she will be making videos about challenges, tutorials, tags and anything else her viewers would request. In her very next video, she participated in the very popular Chubby Bunny challenge. In the following months, she continued to post more vlogs, challenges, Q&A’s, tags, shopping hauls and other types of videos featuring her family members, including her many cousins. Alexa, who had promised to make videos every Friday in her very first video, continues to post mostly on Fridays, although she is no longer so active as to post every week, but tries to post about once or twice each month.
She presently makes vlog type videos mostly; covering her daily routines, travels and vacations, shopping hauls, and other experiences. She now hardly makes any more challenge videos, but has occasionally made prank videos. Interestingly, the viewership on her recent videos has reduced drastically compared to her older videos. Although it has been over eight years that she is making videos on YouTube, her most popular contents on the channel remain from her early videos like Reto : Licuados asquerosos :), Mi rutina del día :), and Vlog : ¡ Me voy de campamento ! :). Through her social media accounts, she has endorsed brands including TANE México 1942, HIGH STREET Clothing, CASETiFY México and Wildflower Cases.
Family Life
Alexa Rivera Villegas’ mother’s name is Liby Villegas, and although her father’s name is unknown, she has featured him in her social media posts. She has two older sisters named Michelle and Eliette, and also has 16 cousins. Her grandparents celebrated their 50th anniversary in January 2020. Initially, her parents, who got married as teenagers, wanted to name her Lucrecia, but ultimately changed that decision. She has a pet dog named Penny, which was a gift from her aunt.
