AJ3Fifa is the online alias of British gaming YouTuber Andy Castell, best known for posting videos related to the video game FIFA on his AJ3Fifa channel. He makes FIFA-related videos about Ultimate team squad builders, pack openings, discard pack challenges, and myth busters. He appeared on Soccer AM, a British football-based talk show on Sky Sports, in August 2013. He also did a charity live-stream and participated in Guinness World Records challenges.
Early Life
As a child in school, AJ3Fifa hated singing, dancing, acting, speaking in front of people or performing musical instruments. He eventually obtained a degree in psychology from James College under University of York.
Career
AJ3Fifa became interested in Football and the FIFA video games after watching his father play FIFA 99 on the original PlayStation. As a teenager, he played with his Saturday and Sunday league teams during the weekends and also played FIFA games in the evening. In July 2012, during a particularly long university holiday, he created his YouTube channel and immediately began posting videos about FIFA 12, one of his favorite versions of the game. He continued to make YouTube videos alongside attending university and initially pursued his goal of becoming a teacher. However, after an opportunity for a teaching job fell through, he decided to focus fulltime on YouTube and has never regretted that decision.
Charity
After surpassing one million subscribers on YouTube, AJ3Fifa decided to do something special and travelled to Uganda to witness the work done by the charity foundation TackleAfrica, which provides HIV education to young Africans through football. His video, USING YOUTUBE FOR GOOD - 1 Million Subscriber Special, posted on July 30, 2016, quickly registered over 200k views. It prompted him to announce a twelve-hour live-stream in October for his subscribers to raise money for the charity. Following a delay, he hosted the stream for five hours in December 2016, filmed live in YouTube's new studios in London and featuring several other YouTubers and special guests.
Guinness World Records
During his charity stream, AJ3Fifa had teamed up with footballer and fellow YouTuber Charlie Morley to film two videos for two Guinness World Records title challenges. The two broke the record for 'Most consecutive headers of a Swiss ball in 30 seconds (team of two)' by reaching 57 heads on their second official attempt. They then competed against each other to set a new record for 'Most headers of a Swiss ball in 30 seconds', which Morley won in the third attempt.
Family Life
AJ3Fifa was born as Andy Castell. His father died of cancer. He has a sister who has appeared in his video. He originally wanted to become a teacher, and at one point, had deleted some of his YouTube videos that he didn’t want his students to see. He has been in a longtime relationship with a woman named Katie, with whom he moved into a rented house in January 2017 after living in the YouTuber Mansion with five other YouTubers for a year.
