09sharkboy is the online alias of Canadian YouTuber Andrew Smith who is best known for his gaming channel of the same name, which has now been renamed to Shark. He is also active on the channels LifeOfShark and SharkPlays, and has a number of inactive channels. According to his LinkedIn profile, he has been the CEO of Sharkboy Media Inc since 2016 and SharkMedia, which was founded in December 2022.

09sharkboy attended Bishop Ryan High School from 2014 to 2018.
Career
09sharkboy joined YouTube with the same username on August 17, 2009 and uploaded his first video about meeting Tobuscus, the creator of TobyGames YouTube channel, three years later on August 31, 2012. The next day, he made another video titled TOBUSCUS GAVE ME A SHOUTOUT!!!!!!!!, in which he showed various Tobuscus merchandise that he got during the meet-up and also showed a clip in which the famous YouTuber gives a shoutout to his channel, 09sharkboy. By that time, apart from his main channel, he also had a vlogging channel called 09sharkboyVlogs, a gaming channel called 09sharkboyGames, and a tutorials channel called 09sharkboy2. In fact, his earliest video was on the channel 09sharkboy2, titled Me ScubaDiving, uploaded on July 2, 2011. He was active on the channel for a year and had also uploaded a few Minecraft videos on it. He further uploaded three videos on his gaming channel between late 2012 and early 2013, before fully focusing on the 09sharkboy channel.
On his main channel, he became known for his trolling videos, which are among his most popular content. He began trolling early on, with his fourth uploaded video on the channel, titled Minecraft Trolling: Double Troll! Kid Rages! His videos of trolling some of his friends went viral, prompting him to making it a series. After crossing 1K subscribers in July 2013, he started making parody videos, with his video ‘Zombies" - A Minecraft Parody of Blame By Calvin Harris (Music Video)’ becoming one of his early popular videos. He continued to make more parody videos and also made vlogs, giveaways and live-streams. He had a role-play series that saw him recreate in Minecraft scenes from movies such as The Maze Runner, Star Wars, Interstellar, The Purge, and Yandere.
Although he had ditched his other channels, he created a new channel called SharksGarage on Mar 18, 2016, but has not posted anything on it. On September 8, 2016, he created another channel, LifeOfShark, where he vlogs and posts challenges. He created even another channel called SharkPlays on June 26, 2017 on which he mostly posts videos for other games than Minecraft, like Fortnite and Roblox. He also has a now-inactive reaction channel called SharkAttack. Starting in September 2017, he teamed up with his YouTuber friends UnspeakableGaming (Nathan) and MooseCraft (George) to form The Squad to make vlogs, challenges and pranks together, but they later disbanded.
